Vocational Training and Professional Integration
GROUP
Founded in 2012, the FIP Group is made up of its five founding member NGOs: Acting For Life, Apprentis d'Auteuil, ESSOR, Gret and IECD. At its quarterly meetings, the FIP Group pools expertise and cross-fertilises know-how on youth vocational training and professional integration worldwide.
In a spirit of practice-sharing and exchange with international solidarity actors, the resources produced with the FIP Group are entirely free and openly accessible.
Background
The FIP Group grew out of an informal group created by international NGOs under French law that wished to share their practices in youth vocational training and professional integration. At the time, no forum for reflection on these issues — despite their central place among development aid priorities — existed in France. The FIP Group as it exists today follows on from the “vocational training” group of the Coordination d'Agen. Of the group's five current members, three are CHD members (Apprentis d'Auteuil, Acting for Life, IECD). Since November 2015 the group has been supported by the AFD, enabling it to move into a phase of producing knowledge useful to other actors in youth vocational training and integration, through the publication of briefing notes and practical tools.
" The group's aim is to improve training and access to employment in developing countries. To this end, it has set itself the following specific objective: to improve the practices of actors involved in vocational training and professional integration (FIP) for young people in developing countries, drawing on mutual learning and shared reflection. "
